Part 4 – Listings

The Listings Manager is the heart and soul of AutoBoss. To access the Listings Manager click the "Listings" tab located in the main navigation set.

Index

From the Listings Index you can search, sort, filter, and perform bulk operations on listings. At the top left of the Listings Index page you'll find a keyword quick search box. For advanced search options and filters click the cog icon located on the right side of the search box.

The Listings Index has multiple display modes. To switch between display modes access the Advanced Search page and use the "Display Mode" select box in the "Display Options" section. After making your selection click the "Update Search Results" button at the bottom of the page.

Add

To add a new listing, click the green "+ Listing" button on the Listing Index page.

We've done our best to keep the required fields to a minimum. Required fields are highlighted. Leaving a required field blank will result in an error message.

Each listing must be assigned to a user account. You can also designate the dealership location where the listing is located. This option can be especially useful if your website displays the inventory of multiple dealership locations.

AutoBoss has been designed to be as flexible as possible when it comes to the type of vehicles and equipment you can list. AutoBoss comes preloaded with several common listing type options which are fully customizable to fit your exact needs. You can also create your own listing types.

Details

The Listing Details page gives you a full view of all the information available for a listing. From this page you can access additional tools for managing each listing.

Edit

If at any time you need to change the information for a listing you can do so by clicking the "Edit" button at the top of the Listing Details page, or by clicking the "Edit" link on the Listings Index page. Images

From the Image Manager you can upload, sort, and delete images for a listing. AutoBoss supports GIF, JPG, and PNG image files. Your images will be resized automatically but to reduce the time necessary to upload and process the images we recommend uploading files no larger than 1280 pixels wide.

To rearrange the order that the images are displayed in, simply click and drag the image thumbnails displayed on the Image Manager page. AutoBoss will automatically store the display order. When you're finished just click the "Finished" button at the top of the page.

AutoBoss supports embedded YouTube and Vimeo videos. You can use the Video Manage to add, sort, and delete embedded videos.

To add a video from YouTube or Vimeo first open the video on the site you've uploaded it to (YouTube or Vimeo), then copy and paste the URL from your browser's address bar into the "YouTube of Vimeo URL" field, then click the Submit button. AutoBoss will automatically download the video preview image and video specs from the appropriate site.
